Sunday in Berlin is very quiet---except for the tourists. This is "Fashion Week" so they are a ton a very skinny, young women running around in some incredible clothes. Sinc it is Sunday, almost all the stores are closed. We did manage to have a full day. Our hotel is by the arch and is on the east side. So, there are lots of government buildings and uninteresting new (1980) buildings. Today we went on the west side of Berlin. The shopping district could have been Rodeo Drive!
There are lots of these bears around West Berlin. They were purchased by companies, organizations, etc. and decorated. It was a fun raiser.
We then went to the Museum of the Resistance. This museum honors those people who fought against Hitler's propaganda.
I know that you can't see everyone's pictures, but they all have amazing stories.
Then, off to the Bode Museum that has a little bit of everything in a great building. We will show you a couple of pictures of the building and then a few paintings.
After lunch, Nancy went back to the hotel and Jack and the group went to see a Picasso exhibit which our friend Jean loved. Do you see a resemblance between Jean and the model in the painting?
We still have a few more days in Berlin. Lots to see.
Jack and Nancy
